Purple Passion

Its been a while. I have been really busy, school, business, work, parenting, and taking time for myself. Here are some picture we took last week at the Farmers Market with my son.
There are a bunch. I am happy to announce that I am now on the board of the Bloomington Winter Farmers Market. Great things are happening. Sorry for the break. I hope you have been well, loving what you do and doing it well.

Mad.

Fuck. because im mad as it. You. because you caused it. Me. because I let you. But why would you. This entire time you knew. Let me suffer till I told the truth. False facts caused you undeserved lofty feelings. Angry caused me undeserved loft words. You. because you said nothing. Fuck. Because you knew.

Truth. I knew I could not hide from you. They say you can not lie to your soulmate. But I heard I can have more than you. You. because I loved. Past tense because im not sure about the present or the future. Your illuminated heart sits framed on my bedroom floor. The shock on your face when I tore it off the wall. All you were resting on it came crashing down.

Fuck. Because I showed up and let you get the best of me. You. because I took the rest of me. Never to return again. Bitch. because I finally got mad. because that was past the line, because I cried that morning almost as if I knew. Truth births freedom. No oxygen inside your metal box. Trapped with the beats that sustain you.

chescalocs, locs, natural hair

Loc-spirations

Made this last night to keep the momentum up. Locs are about a journey so while I love where I am I am so excited to look into the future. For everything locs I go to chescalocs. She is funny and fine; can't bet that. I also love her style. I would love to have more info for the earlier stages.. maybe I should start me own youtube channel? We shall see. ;)

Nappy.

Friday is the Sistah Hair Share and I could not be more excited. Natural Hair has been a wonderful journey for me and I can not wait to see that happens next. I am starting locs with two strand twist and while it is frustrating at time, it constantly reminds me that things come together as they should.

Wondering you my fro is so dry and what it "really" looks like.

From the Blueline Shoot that I did. This picture made me love my fro completely and without hesitation.

In DC in all our natural glory! Big ups to be girl Widdy. Having natural friends makes it SO much easier. Like with anything.

Tried to curl it. I loved myself that day. Somedays you love yourself others not so much.

LOVE that hat! Two strand twist under wraps. The combination (and being in an art studio) really made me feel like I was on a new path. Note the nose ring.. I also got a tattoo... Once you pop the fun dont stop! (that is NOT what my tattoo says)

I was reading a lot of A.Lorde the night before. This was the aftermath.

Ran across this image last year and have had it since. I loved it loved her and felt that is captured all that I had always been but never had the courage to express. So I decided that starting locs like this would be the transformation of my silence. A bold sign of the deeps parts of me.

Let's DISH.

Got to attend Designers Dish at Blueline last tuesday. I always love being around Chelsea as I consider her a great mind.I have been obsessed with Blueline since I got to work with them a few years back. I love the feel of the photography. I always makes me want to lay in the grass and look at the sky.

Understated perfection. I think she really gets at the beauty of the everyday.

I was excited to see we both went for black and white strips that day. If that were not enough I learned about ink'd (a project in the works by Benedict) and got to feel like part of the creative community in bloomington which is saying a lot. I am really looking forward to the next one. Hopefully I will be brave enough to actually dish.

Who doesn't want shoots like this in their wedding album? They even offer a photobooth & truly some fantastic video.. needless to say I already plan on using them for my wedding.. never mind that im single :D.
