A Little Love

I have been thinking a lot about love lately. I have been talking with my friends and trying to find a way to rationalize my feelings and the feelings of the one I love but it pretty much seems like logic is not helpful. I would love to be able to have a completely rational businesslike conversation with the one I love but it just does not work like that. I think at the end of the day it is worth it. I like the journey to learning to be patient and put his feelings before mine. That is what you do when you love someone right. Fingers Crossed.

Winter Market

It is no longer winter but I thought I should post some pictures I took this Winter at the Farmers Market in Bloomington Indiana where I live. The Winter Market is not nearly as busy as the summer market but I found it pretty enjoyable. I love going there with my son because of the music and atmosphere. It is located at the Harmony School which is where I hope he will be going to school eventually. I am working on a class project aimed to increase attendance to the market and I hope it works out because it is a really great experience.

My son enjoying the slices of heaven dished out by Sweet Claires.
Feast is one of the most popular restaurants  at the market. The access to cooked food
is what really makes the market fun because then you can eat while you shop, talk and listen to music.
The bathroom door at Harmony School. You can tell there is a lot of creative freedom.
                                                                  More from Feast!

Fresh Flowers are one of my favorite things about the market and the carrots are just amazing. My son loves them.

I really like her set up and her CSA is something to behold. I love the name too.

Fun.

I have been in LOVE with Fun. Since they opened for Janelle Monae at Indiana University in October of 2011. I ran into them on the street after the concert and I said "I hope you guys get really big." Which probably was not the best thing I could have said. They were all very kind and good looking :). I am happy to see that they are doing so well and if you have not checked them out please do. You are missing out.

They are in concert now and I was luck enough to get a ticket to their show in Indianapolis and I could not be more excited.

NYC

I went to New York for the Annual Association of Geographers conference a while back. I took my son with me and he stayed with my family in Cheshire,CT but I did get to bring him to the city for one day and we were fortunate enough to meet one of his heros. He has been watching the Avengers on netflix since December and the Toys R Us in Times Square had a employee in full Iron Man attire. We waited till he came from his lunch break and my son could not have been happier. It felt so good to see his eyes light up and to have Iron talk to him was something he still talks about.

I am really glad I had the chance to take him with me on the trip. I recognize that is was only possible because I had family in the area. The entire trip was everything I wanted it to be. I spent (a lot) of time in Harlem and the Bronx looking at potential research sites. Particularly, the Harlem Children's Zone which I was particularly interested in studying. It looks as thought Detroit will be my location after all partly because of the time in spent in New York City.
