The Practice of Everyday Life

As the mother of a three year old. I often find myself wondering how I can be the kind of mother a boy needs. The first think I have to learn is not to constantly treat him like a baby. This is actually pretty difficult for me because my child is so cute know exactly how to make me want to hand him the world on a silver platter. This, however, must end. I am doing him no good by treating him like a child and expecting him to grow into a man. If I want to raise a man I have to start grooming him to be a man. 

I have been reading a fantastic book called Wild Things: the art of nurturing boys by Stephan James and David Thomas. I cannot tell you how much this book has helped me understand what my little man needs. As I continue at read I learn I will share more. Needless to say that my journey to a better me is going very well.
